Rammstein World is a non-profit oriented website: all of the advertising revenue is used to finance the hosting. This, coupled with their use violent and sexual imagery to make their points means wherever Rammstein go, controversy is rarely far behind.
They didnt strike me as a commercial-sounding band, but at the same time, I could imagine them being played on rockalternative stations in the United States. Sure, they gained popularity initially because of their insane, cinematic live shows, and its what allows them to play massive open-air arenas today, but theres something in their songs that makes them appealing as well. Rammstein All Albums Trial Metal WouldYou would think that industrial metal would be the anti-radio genre, but Rammstein found a way to make it seem otherwise. I always try to make lyrics count for something when listening to rock or metal, and even when translating their lyrics on Genius like the non-German speaking scrub that I am, they didnt make me depreciate Rammstein at all. A lot of their songs are centered around love and lust, but I feel theres enough variety in each track to not make them sound like a broken record playing. Theyre not centered on just the two topics though, their discography has seen them explore many other ones, including politics, religion, mother-son connections, travel, and even cannibalism. The crunching, distorted guitars, militaristic drumming, and epic choruses are all staples of Rammsteins sound. But even with being associated with industrial metal and the Neue Deutsche Hrte sound primarily, they havent been afraid to enter different territories with their sound. Theyve explored symphonic metal (Mein Herz brennt), doom metal (Reise, Reise), techno metal (Du hast), shoegaze (Seemann), gothic rock (Puppe), thrash metal (Feuer frei), and even mariachi metal (Te quiero puta), among other genres. Till Lindemanns vocals are certainly unique, with a super bass-y delivery, and can often be what seals the deal for a Rammstein song. The way his vocals blend with the epic chorus of Sonne make the song even more grandiose. That specific combination of vocals and music is what makes that song often regarded as one of the bands best songs, as well as a part of what makes the bands sound unique. You also gotta admit, German vocals blend with their music so well. Their fanbase is incredibly large, spanning around the world. It has allowed for them to have number-one albums in countries across Europe and even reach the Top 10 in the United States, which seems pretty hard for a German industrial metal band to do, especially in 2019 Even 25 years after they formed, Rammstein still kick ass, both in the form of an LP and a live performance; still making grand and badass metal while performing in massive open-air arenas with fire shooting practically everywhere from their stage. They have proved it themselves both in the studio and on the stage - Rammstein will never go out of style. It had all been done and everything was a rehash, re-imagining or watered down version of some classic that had come before. And then along came Rammstein to lay a blitzkrieg on the whole Rock landscape. The focus, the intensity, the fire Rammstein cut away all excess and created a veritable steamroller of Teuton efficiency. Behind the seemingly single-minded, frightening band collective and shock there was humour, a self-knowing deprecation and lyrical depth. ![]() They will be studied, appreciated and copied for as long as people are making music. Sera6969. Ridiculously groovy riffs and catchy lyrics have meant that even non-German speakers can still sing along with one of modern metals most charismatic frontmen in Til Lindemann. But there is more to Rammstein than that: formed in post-Wall Berlin, the band have never been afraid to make statements, and through all of their music is an undercurrent of satire and outrage.
